10 Tahun Sebelum Merdeka
I’m stumbled across this video on my boring weekend night, having no movies to watch. Seeing the duration of the video of 30+ minutes making me almost stop watching it coz a bit too long la I think. But I just give it a shot, manalah tahu best ke.
The documentary is about the events that culminated in the Malaya-wide ‘Hartal’ day of protest against the undemocratic Federation of Malaya Constitutional Proposals devised by the British Colonial Government and the UMNO, and the rise of the people’s democratic movement in Malaya, 10 years before Merdeka. A bit provocative but hell, I’m a man atas pagar. Aku layan je semua aliran and I pick up every goodness from it. Mind you, this documentary tells about the situation 10 years before Merdeka, so perhaps we should reserved our judgment about any comparison on all sorts of political party or movement today(Now I sound a bit more political..lol).
I always been a fan of indie things, from music to movies. Having always layan movies/documentary from Zan Azlee(an indie filmmaker) before I knew this will score on my taste of film. And indeed, it was a hell of a documentary. Never seen anything so inspired before and somehow apa yang kita belajar dalam buku Sejarah dahulu tak semestinya memaparkan apa yang berlaku.
Satu lagi bila aku tengok the deleted scene pasal movie ni pasal macam mana dulu omputeh bodohkan tok nenek kita, tak bagi diorang pandai, kalau pandai sangat kang melawan omputeh lak. Memang kelakar abis ada satu scene. Pekat abis loghat Perak pakcik nih mengingatkan aku kepada Opah aku.. Boleh usha di bawah
A must see for every Malaysian and I can assured you memang best and very inspiring. Mengingatkan kita kembali kepada sejarah pada awal-awal zaman nak tuntut Merdeka.
I wonder what will happen today if we adapt the constitution ‘Perlembagaan Rakyat’ as suggested by PUTERA-AMCJA.. hmmm.. What do you reckon?
